May 22, 2022 Europe Day: EU-Red Neighbors Without Borders.

On May 22, the annual Eurodeday will be held. On this day we celebrate the cooperation between Kerkrade and Herzogenrath. And this is finally allowed after two years! This year's theme is: EU-Red neighbors without borders. For this special day a 140 meter long breakfast table will be set up. So come and have breakfast with good company.

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we cordially invite everyone to engage in conversation with their neighbors on Nieuwstraat (from the EBC traffic circle to D'r Knub traffic circle) with a brought breakfast.

Opening Eurodeday

The two Eurode mayors, Mrs. Petra Dassen-Housen and Mr. Benjamin Fadavian, will open the breakfast. They will be musically accompanied by the Straß 1880 eV band. At the end of the breakfast, the Straß 1880 eV band will perform together with the Royal Concert Orchestra Kerkrade.

Information afternoon

We celebrate the cross-border Eurodedag with an information afternoon with association from Kerkrade and Herzogenrath. The information afternoon with market stalls will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Nieuwstraat and Honéestraat.

Other activities

Two scouting groups from Kerkrade and Herzogenrath are building a bridge across the border together. You can join the various associations for fun (sports) activities.

Delicacies from Eurode are also available. Rolduc's wine brewers are cooperating with the Mayschoß-Altenahr wine growers' cooperative. To raise money for the reconstruction of Mayschoß, this town was hit hard for the flood last year.

Associations from Eurode will present themselves at the Eurode Day. There is an extensive program taking place on the stands, street acts and sports competitions. In addition to providing information at the market stalls, people will be able to get information. In addition, associations perform and organize activities in which to participate.
