Accessibility
The Municipality of Kerkrade would like everyone to be able to find, read and use this website properly. We want all residents to be able to participate. Including people with disabilities. That is why we are working on digital accessibility.
Government websites are also required by law to comply with the rules for digital accessibility (WCAG 2.1). We take this obligation seriously. And want our municipal websites to meet these legal requirements for digital accessibility.
This is how we work on digital accessibility
- We build websites and apps according to accessibility guidelines.
- We train our staff in creating accessible content.
- We regularly have our websites tested by independent experts.
- We are improving parts that are not yet easily accessible.
- We provide alternatives when information is not (yet) easily accessible.
- We listen to user reports and solve problems
- We publish an accessibility statement for each website and app on the digitaccessible dashboard.
Accessibility statements and research reports.
Government organizations must publish an accessibility statement for every website and application for which they are responsible. The statement states what part of the website already meets the requirements and what parts could be improved.
Because the municipal website www.kerkrade.nl has just been revamped, we have yet to have the survey done. DIt will be done within a month. Once the survey is done, you will find the accessibility label and accessibility statement here.
