Additional 3.9 million for housing quality and livability in Kerkrade neighborhoods
Kerkrade is getting an extra boost as we are receiving no less than €3.9 million from the Public Housing Fund. This money is specifically intended to improve housing quality and livability in the Mucherveld, Bleijerheide and Spekholzerheide neighborhoods.
Alderman Tim Weijers (Housing): "We will renovate and sometimes (if nothing else) demolish outdated housing, creating space for a more modern and safer living environment. This investment is an important step in the development of our city. We will also work on the public space, with extra attention to sustainability and climate adaptation. In this approach, we are working closely with other municipalities in Parkstad and it is good to see that our joint lobby has once again resulted in a nice contribution. Previous contributions from the Public Housing Fund and the Regio Deal have already resulted in numerous homes in Kerkrade being tackled. Together with other municipalities, residents, businesses and associations, we are building a city full of opportunities and future prospects for everyone."
