Report missing passport or identity card via DigiD
What is it?
Have you lost your passport or identity card? Then you can report it digitally to the municipality.
Your travel document will be recorded as missing, thus preventing misuse and possible identity fraud.
How does it work?
You can report the loss of your travel document in person at the municipality of Kerkrade.
You do not need to make an appointment when reporting a missing travel document.
Of course, you can also report the missing travel document digitally via your DigiD code.
What to do?

Is your document registered as missing?
Then you may be able to make a Make an appointment appointment online to apply for a new travel document.
Do you need your document urgently? Then you can make an urgent request.
Additional information
You cannot make a digital notification if:
- You do not yet have a DigiD. You must come to City Hall to report the loss. If you have another proof of identity or driver's license, bring it with you.
- You are under 18; come to the town hall to report.
- You have lost your travel document abroad. Report it to the local police. Then you can apply for an emergency document at the Dutch embassy or consulate. Once you are back in the Netherlands, you can apply for a permanent travel document.
When do you report it to the police?
Has your travel document been stolen? Then it is wise to also report it to the police.
Did you recover your travel document?
Then return it directly to the municipality. You can no longer use it.
