Tackling waste dumping: deployment of additional enforcement

The municipality increasingly receives complaints from residents about waste nuisance. This concerns waste that is put on the street too early and illegal dumping: waste or bulky waste that is put next to the containers. We also regularly receive reports of waste dumping in green areas and outdoor areas.

Litter lying around is bad for the environment. In addition, it is very disruptive to the environment. Because loose litter creates stench, vermin and litter. It is only a small number of people who do not offer their waste in the right way. But unfortunately, it often affects the entire neighborhood.

Additional enforcement

To deal with the waste problem, the municipality is deploying two additional BOAs on a trial basis starting in February, who will be exclusively dedicated to checking for waste dumping and illegal siding. They will specifically check places where waste is more often offered incorrectly and keep an extra eye on these places. People who offer waste incorrectly will be addressed about the consequences. A fine will be issued in case of a new violation.
The trial will last three months. After that time, we will evaluate whether this measure is effective in reducing the dumping and adding of waste.

Report

Do you see garbage lying where it doesn't belong? Then we ask you to report it. You can do this through the free BuitenBeter app, the Environmental App from Rd-4 or through a Notification of Living Environment on our website or by phone at 14 045. If a certain place is often dumped, you can also report this to us. The BOAs will then regularly take that spot on their rounds.

Keep it neat

It is often a small effort to properly dispose of trash and keep the neighborhood tidy. Is the collection container in the neighborhood full or broken? Then don't put the waste next to the containers, but throw it in another container for the same waste. Or take it back with you.
Report a full container or malfunction via the free BuitenBeter app or via a Report Residential and Living Environment on our website

You can also bring a lot of waste to the environmental park for free, check the Rd-4 website for this
