Notice of assessment of municipal and water board taxes coming soon

BsGw performs tax function for municipality

BsGW ensures that everyone who has to pay taxes (taxpayers) receives and pays an assessment notice. Some taxes require the WOZ value. BsGW also determines this on behalf of the municipality. With your tax money you contribute to safety, quality of life and facilities in your municipality.

The WOZ value is rising again this year.
There is a lot to do about the WOZ value. And that is logical because it affects, among other things, the amount of the property tax, the water board levy and the owner-occupied home tax credit. The WOZ value is rising again this year. In this short video, BsGW explains how this is possible.

What information will you find on the assessment notice?

On the assessment you will see the amounts for the various types of tax, such as the waste disposal levy. You will also receive information on how to pay, apply for a waiver or lodge an objection. At www.bsgw.nl you will find answers to frequently asked questions and the MijnBsGW digital counter. Do you have a problem? Feel free to contact BsGW at 088-8420420. The contact details are also on the assessment notice.

Information on remission and payment arrangement

You have received the annual assessment notice for municipal and water board taxes. By post in your mailbox or digitally in your message box if you have signed up for MijnOverheid. You receive this assessment from BsGW, on behalf of the municipality. What if you cannot pay the amount?

Waiver
It is possible to get a waiver for certain taxes. This means that you do not have to pay the amount. Whether you qualify for this depends on several things. Such as the amount of your income and your assets. We determine your assets by:

  • Your bank and savings balance
  • Whether you own a home with excess value
  • Whether you own a car or other motorized vehicle with a value of more than €3,350.

We do not count the amount you received as an energy allowance when calculating your assets.

More assets
Municipalities and Water Boards may apply a broader asset limit for tax remission starting in 2023. To determine whether you qualify for relief, they will first determine whether you can pay the amount of the assessment from your available assets. It is therefore possible that, due to this increase, you will now receive (partial) remission, whereas you were not entitled to this in the past.

Questionnaire
Use this questionnaire to check if it makes sense for you to apply for waiver.

Applying for remission
You can apply for relief in two ways:

- Digitally via the BsGW website .
Here you fill in the requested information. BsGW will determine whether you qualify for relief. You will receive a reply by mail within 12 weeks.

- In writing via a form
You can apply for this by telephone to BsGW on 088-8420420. You will then receive the form by post. Complete the form in full and return it with the requested specifications. BsGW cannot process your request without these documents.

Payment arrangement
Are you not eligible for remission and are you still having trouble paying the assessment? Then call BsGW on 088-8420420. Together we will look for a suitable solution, such as a payment arrangement.
