Application for energy allowance still open until April 1
Application for an energy supplement for low-income households can still be made. A supplement from the Emergency Energy Fund is also still possible. You can apply for one or both allowances until April 1. So make arrangements in good time!
Energy surcharge from the municipality
More than 2,000 households now received the 2023 energy allowance from our municipality. Some of the residents received it automatically. Others because they submitted an application and received a positive response. The energy supplement is for low-income residents. Everyone with an income up to 120% of the social minimum is eligible for the energy supplement, if the Requirements are met.
Many residents eligible for this energy allowance have not yet applied. Did you receive 500 euros in April 2023? Then you may still be eligible for a supplement of 800 euros now. Have you received nothing by 2023? Then you may be eligible for a supplement of 1,300 euros. You can still submit an application. It must be received by the municipality before April 1, 2024.

Additional Supplement Emergency Fund Energy
The National Emergency Energy Fund is for low-income households with high energy bills. That means gross monthly income below 3,200 euros (single) or 4,480 euros (cohabitating). That includes 8% vacation allowance. The Requirements of this national emergency fund changed slightly in 2024. If you were not eligible for this supplement in 2023, you may be eligible for it now.
Separate from the municipality's energy allowance, you may be eligible for an allowance from this Emergency Fund for 6 months. It is a national emergency fund. Therefore, the municipalities have no role in granting relief. At www.noodfondsenergie.nl you will find exactly what you need to do to apply. Again, the application must be submitted by April 1, 2024.
