Applying for a voter ID card
Voting with a voter card in the 2025 election of members of the House of Representatives
The Mayor of the Municipality of Kerkrade announces the following:
At the elections to the House of Representatives, voters in the municipality of Kerkrade can apply to vote in another municipality in the Netherlands. You can apply for a voter card to do this. This can be done in 2 ways: in writing or orally. Once you have been issued with an electoral pass, the original voting pass is declared invalid. You can then only vote with this voter card. At the polling station you give your voter card and show your ID.
A. Oral application
You can make an oral application to vote in another municipality.
You can make this application from October 15, 2025 at the municipality of Kerkrade, Markt 33, 6461 EC in Kerkrade.
You can make an oral application until noon on October 28, 2025.
If your request is approved, you will receive your voter ID card immediately. Please bring your identity document with your application.
B. Written application
You can apply to vote in another municipality. This can be done either digitally or by mail.
Digital
Voters can fill out the digital form request voting pass or proxy on the municipality's website starting Oct. 16.
Written by mail
The voter can download the form model K 6-1 (Request for voter card) from the Electoral Council's website:
Send the completed and signed form to the municipality. Enclose a copy of your identity document.
This can be sent to verkiezingen@kerkrade.nl or by mail to:
Municipality of Kerkrade, Elections Team, Markt 33, 6461 EC Kerkrade.
Your application must be received by the municipality by Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
Are you sending the request by mail? If so, please do so well in advance.
If your application is approved, you will receive a voter ID card by mail.
Your request will not be approved if you previously submitted a written request to vote by proxy and that request was approved.
