Supplement rent or healthcare allowance

What is it?

Supplement rent or healthcare allowance

Are you married or living together and have a welfare level income.

If so, you may receive less rent or healthcare benefit than intended. This is because several schemes together can cause a lower income. The municipality can help by supplementing the rent and healthcare allowance.

How does it work?

When can you ask for a supplement?

  • You have a (supplementary) partner;
  • You or your partner has benefits from UWV, SVB or an insurer and may also have a very low income from work; and
  • the other was born after 1962 and has no income or a very low income; and
  • Together, you may have additional Social assistance benefit.

What to do?

You can apply for the supplemental rent and/or healthcare benefit using your DigiD.
