Environmental noise action plan

In 2023, the so-called noise maps for road traffic, rail traffic and industrial noise are established. This is a legal task for the municipality. Recently, as a follow-up to this, measures were examined that can reduce noise pollution in noisy areas. These measures are contained in the Environmental Noise Action Plan 2024-2029.

The Municipal Executive adopted the "Draft Action Plan EU Environmental Noise Directive Municipality of Kerkrade 2024" on May 7, 2024.

The Action Plan will be available for inspection by interested parties for six weeks from May 27, 2024, at the Information Desk in the City Office. You can also view the digital version of the Action Plan.

On January 24, 2023, the "Noise maps EU Environmental Noise Directive 2021" for road traffic, rail traffic and industrial noise were adopted. This was phase 1 of a statutory task under the EU Environmental Noise Directive integrated into the Noise Act.

In phase 2, a follow-up study was conducted into possible measures to reduce noise pollution at bottlenecks from these noise maps. These possible measures have been laid down in the Action Plan for the period 2024-2029.
