Activities of HIP@HuB
The Historical Information Point in the HuB.Kerkrade is again offering two new digital activities starting April 26.
First of all, a digital lecture with the theme "Kerkrade and the Oranges" is online, in which assistant archivist Diane Smeets-Habets takes you through various photos and facts about visits by the royal family to Kerkrade since 1841 in the context of King's Day. You can find the video at www.bibliotheekkerkrade.nl.
You can also listen to a podcast of the LGOG (Limburgs Geschiedkundig en Oudheidkundig Genootschap) about the DRAPO project at www.lgog.nl or spotify.
DRAPO, a project of the Social Historic Center Limburg (SHCL), maps current and historical banners of Limburg associations. All banners are displayed digitally via the site www.limburgsevaandels.nl and preserved for posterity.
Kerkrade banners can also be viewed at www.rodenet.nl under the heading "Kerkrade Banners. In the podcast, participants in this project, including the municipality of Kerkrade talk about their banners, as well as their motivations for participating in this project.
Would you also like to participate in the DRAPO project and make your association flag or banner shine?
Then place a digital photo and a description of it on the colorful gallery of www.limburgsevaandels.nl
The Historical Information Point in the HuB.Kerkrade is a cooperation between the Municipal Archives and the Kerkrade Library.
