Alzheimercafé Parkstad Limburg

Tuesday, November 9, 2021 you are welcome to attend

Sharing experiences in corona time and dwelling on the so-called social approach is the focus of this Alzheimer's Café evening.

Finally, we get to welcome you back and we can engage in conversation again.

The Netherlands now has 290,000 people living with dementia, in Parkstad it is about 5,500 people and these numbers are likely to double by 2050. This involves at least as many loved ones/caregivers.

During the corona time there has been a lot of sadness, loneliness and fear and we still feel it now. To give this a place, it is good to talk about what it has done to us. Therefore, we want to give you the opportunity to talk about what your experiences were.

In addition, that evening we want to focus on the so-called social approach. The social approach is important for people with dementia and their loved ones but is also important for the whole community. But what do we mean when we talk about social approach and how can we implement it? That's what we want to talk to you about

The meeting will be held in the large recreation room of the Tobias Care Center, Piet Malherbestraat 2 in Heerlen. Registration is necessary this time because we want to follow some safety rules for everyone. You can register via the following link: https://sites.google.com/site/alzheimerparkstad/caf%C3%A9/aanmeldformulier
or through the secretariat. Participation is free.

The hall is open from 7 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. we will start sharing experiences from the corona era and depending on the discussions we will start after the break with the topic of social approach. There will of course be ample opportunity for questions and around 9:30 p.m. we will close the evening. Coffee tea, and flan are free. Refreshments will be served at the table.
