Thanks for your thoughts on our new dog policy!

Nearly 1,700 people filled out our questionnaire and let us know what they think about our dog policy. Thank you for that!

From March 1 to April 8, residents could fill out a questionnaire and tell us what they think about the rules for dogs in Kerkrade. What's good, and what could be better.

Alderman Alexander Geers (Public Space): "We are glad that so many people did this, because this information is very valuable to us. Thank you for your time and attention. We will look at your responses in the coming period and see how we will shape our dog policy in the future. One comment that has been made frequently concerns the abolition of the dog tax. We had already taken this into account: starting in 2024, dog owners will no longer have to pay taxes for the first dog."

We will continue to go through the answers in the coming time. And comparing the answers to the dog policy we have now. Then we will get to work on the first version of the new dog policy. We want to present this to the college and council after the summer break.

As soon as there is news about the dog policy again, we will post it here and in the City Journal.
