Guidance to work goes forward in Kerkrade
The Work and Income Department of the Municipality of Kerkrade has something to celebrate! And that is that last year we helped 100 people find employment. By working continuously on an employment participation program, we achieved that nice number of placements. This contributed to a substantial 5% decrease in our client base. A new development is also planned for next year: the start of the new Flexiforum Development Center.
The Flexiforum Development Center focuses on seeking and finding job opportunities and developing talents. The candidates, residents with benefits under the Participation Act, are prepared for the labor market in the work hubs. The (further) development of employee skills as well as professional skills is central to this. The existing labor participation program is already coordinated from the Flexiforum and will remain there.

"We deploy all kinds of activities to increase labor participation, such as speed dates with employers, information meetings, workshops, company visits and individual counseling of employees. By using different ways of getting to know and developing, we keep our candidates active and involved," says Kelly Ros-Schroen, strategic account manager for Work and Income.
Alderman John Roland: "It's great to help so many people find work. Employers in these times have the greatest difficulty in finding staff. We respond to that by looking for good and sometimes creative solutions when placing job seekers. In the end, what matters is that someone looking for work finds a nice place to land and that the employer gets his jobs done. Where people give each other a chance, the most beautiful things are created."
