Understanding signals from society

We, the mayors, understand the dissatisfaction of business owners in our municipalities.

Among other things, the border location makes the situation in South Limburg even more distressing. We see that the fight against the pandemic is bringing the water to the lips of some entrepreneurs and associations. That is why we are lobbying intensively in The Hague. We are hopeful that the first effects of this will become visible tonight during the press conference and that, among other things, non-essential stores will be able to open by appointment.

Hospitality and culture

For the hospitality industry and cultural institutions, there do not seem to be any relaxations yet. Therefore, we want to give them space tomorrow, Saturday, January 15, 2022, to open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. In this way, they will have the opportunity to send a signal endorsing the seriousness of their situation. Of course, this opening should take place in a corona-safe manner (1.5 meters distance, mouth caps and CTB check). We rely here on the personal responsibility of our business owners, residents and visitors.

Corona Rules

The corona rules established by the State are enforced by the municipalities. We, the mayors, enforce these rules along the path of gradualism; excesses are out of the question. Our employees must be able to do their jobs safely at all times.
