Are you a victim of the child care benefits affair? Then report!

We have already been able to read a lot about it in the newspaper and on social media. We have also heard about it on radio and TV. Because of the childcare allowance affair, about 26,000 parents in the Netherlands were wrongly suspected of childcare allowance fraud. A large number of these people therefore became victims of the tax authorities' tough fraud approach between 2013 and 2019.

Tax authorities and Kerkrade municipality work together to help you

The municipality of Kerkrade is also home to parents who have been victims of the benefits affair. That is why the Tax Office and the municipality of Kerkrade are working together to help these parents.

The first step: report to the IRS

If you have become a victim of the benefits affair, we want to help you.
However, you must first take the first step yourself. Report to the tax authorities. You can do this by calling telephone number 0800 2358358.

The tax authorities are not allowed to simply give your name and address information to the municipality. So unfortunately, we cannot call you or contact you ourselves.

After the first step, we can help you further

After you report to the Tax Office, the municipality is notified and we can meet with you to discuss what help you need from us. We offer help where it is needed. Whether it's debt, family support, help with work, housing or your health. We are here for you!

Do you know someone who is a victim of the benefits affair?

Are you not a victim of the benefits affair yourself, but do you know someone who is a victim? If so, please help this parent(s) by sharing this information. We hope to get in touch with the parents involved in this way so that everyone gets the help they need.
