Dear residents of Kerkrade

Dear residents of Kerkrade, 

Since Wednesday night the family has been living in a raw reality, their Gino did not come home. Immediately they searched, hoping to find him soon. Soon the police were scaled up and an intensive search was conducted in the municipality of Kerkrade. Family members themselves and lots of volunteers participated in this.  

Hope has given us strength in recent days. That strength is gone today. 

Gino will never come home again, never play soccer or feel the love of his family. 

A hard blow to his family. They are permanently in our thoughts and of course we are in close contact with them. It is also a blow to the community and the many volunteers and police officers who have been intensively searching in Kerkrade over the past few days. It is an event that deeply affects our entire community.

Our thoughts are with Gino's family, friends and everyone who loved the boy. The Municipal Council of Kerkrade wishes family and all involved much strength at this great loss.
