Filing an objection
What is it?
Do you disagree with a decision made by the municipality? Then you can file a notice of objection with the municipality.
How does it work?
The municipality may make a decision with which you disagree. For example: your application for a grant or permit has been rejected. Or you disagree with the exemption granted to your neighbor. You can then lodge an objection.
The main Requirements for filing an objection to a decision are:
- The decision is in writing.
- The decision belongs to the municipality.
- You have a direct interest in the decision.
What to do?
Submit objection in writing
You can submit your objection in writing to the Central Objections and Complaints Committee. This committee is independent and consists of persons not employed by the municipality.
