Leaf Collectors
As it does every year, the municipality places leaf baskets in public areas in the fall. The baskets are placed in those areas of neighborhoods where there are many municipal trees and are exclusively for leaves.
The period during which the hives are placed may vary from site to site. This is because the time when the leaves fall varies for each tree species. The municipality ensures that the leaf boxes are emptied regularly and that the leaf waste is composted by a processing company.
The leaf boxes are not intended for other (garden) waste such as branches, pruning waste or organic waste. This causes problems in emptying the bins and in further processing.
If a leaf basket is full, or in case of vandalism, you can report this to the municipality. You can do this by phone (14 045), by e-mail at gemeentehuis@kerkrade.nl or via the Buiten Beter App.
