Stay vital with the KWIEK exercise route
Due to the high number of corona infections and tightened corona measures, the planned official opening of the KWIEK exercise route will not take place today, Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Kerkrade. An official moment may follow next year. MeanderGroep Zuid-Limburg realized the KWIEK exercise route, which has been in use since September, with the support of the municipality of Kerkrade.
What is a KWIEK exercise route?
KWIEK is a walking and exercise route that takes advantage of neighborhood street furniture. Follow the route and train your balance, strength and endurance. Fun to do and good for body and mind.
How do I recognize a KWIEK exercise route?

The exercise route is marked with orange and white arrows on the sidewalks and special tiles with assignments. The start and finish are at the entrance to Healthand rehabilitation center Hambos. There is an information board there with an overview of the route. You can load the route on your smartphone via the attached QR code.
Who is the KWIEK exercise route for?
The exercise route was primarily intended for the clients of Prima Vista day center, located in Healthand rehabilitation center Hambos. During the realization of the route, the residents (and visitors) of the Hambos and the Kapelhof were also involved. But now that the route is there, everyone can use it, young and old.
How long is the KWIEK exercise route?
The exercise route consists of 2 loops of less than 1 kilometer each. You can walk one loop at a time or 2 in a row right away.
How did the KWIEK exercise route come about?
Employees of MeanderGroep took the initiative. The FNO fund honored the grant application of Miriam Halbach, Prima Vista manager. The Municipality of Kerkrade helped with the design and construction of the route.
