Trees, notification

What is it?

There are all kinds of reasons why trees and shrubs can bother you. You can think of pests, falling leaves, roots, allergies or shade. If you are bothered by trees and bushes on municipal land, you can file a report. Are neighbors' trees bothering you? Then you will have to do something about it yourself. Among other things, you can call the neighbors to account. First the neighbors will have to be warned and if they do nothing, you can take action yourself. The warning must be in writing.

How does it work?

A tree must be planted at least 2 meters from the property line. Hedges and shrubs must be at least 0.5 meters from the property line. Measure this from the center of the tree or shrub.

The City of Kerkrade's Tree Ordinance deviates from the legislation and states that the distance of hedges and shrubs from the property line may be zero.
