Letter address

What is it?

The municipality registers you at the address where you usually sleep, even if it is not your own home. Do you temporarily not have a residential address and want to be able to receive mail? Then you can apply for a postal address. You will then receive your mail temporarily at the address of a friend, acquaintance or family member.

A postal address is a temporary solution for people who do not have a residential address for a while. There are various reasons for applying for a postal address. For example, because of a temporary stay abroad, staying in a nursing home or because of homelessness. As a letter address you choose the address of family or friends. Will you not receive permission from family or friends? Then you may use the letter address of the municipality in certain situations.

A postal address is an address where you have your mail sent. This allows you to receive important mail from the government and other organizations.

When applying for a letter address, the municipality always looks to see if you do not have a residential address.

What is a residential address?

A residential address is the address where you live. Do you have more than one address? Then the residential address is the address where you sleep most often in six months. You can also live in a mobile home, caravan, on a recreation park or on a boat. This must have a permanent pitch or berth.
