There is always something going on in the center of Kerkrade. There are many cultural activities and events. A well-known example is the World Music Contest (WMC). This major music festival takes place every four years, with the next edition scheduled for 2026. Musicians from all over the world perform high-quality music in the city center. Music can be heard everywhere, and many people come to watch and listen.

The HuB, the city's cultural living room, houses the Parkstad Limburg Theater, the Mijn Streek library, and the Music and Dance School (SMK). Throughout the year, you can enjoy theater, music, and dance performances, films, workshops, and lectures. This makes it a great place for young and old alike.

The Discovery Museum is located on Museumplein. Here you can learn about science, technology, and sustainability in a fun way. The museum is interesting for families, children, and anyone who is curious. 

In addition, various exhibitions are held at Martin Buber Square throughout the year.
