Day of Mantel Care in Kerkrade
Today Kerkrade celebrates the Day of Mantel Care: a day to reflect on the efforts of all our informal caregivers and express our gratitude for what they mean to our community!
Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to give the desired fulfillment to this day either. Due to the worrying situation regarding COVID-19 infections, we have had to decide, with pain in our hearts, to cancel the performances for caregivers in the HuB.
All people who had already ordered a ticket for one of the performances will receive notice from Parkstad Theaters Limburg.
We had hoped that the informal care shows could continue this year and are very sorry that this is still not possible.
Alderman Leo Jongen (Public Health) emphasized that the Day of Informal Care should certainly not go unnoticed: "Even though it is again not possible to meet in person this year, our appreciation for all our informal caregivers remains undiminished! Especially in times like these, their commitment and all the Health they provide is invaluable. For their loved ones, but also for us!"
To put all informal caregivers in Parkstad in the limelight, Het Steunpunt voor Mantelzorgers Parkstad, together with the municipalities of Heerlen, Kerkrade, Brunssum, Landgraaf, Simpelveld and Voerendaal, provided a television broadcast. This musical performance is for all caregivers in Parkstad and was created with the cooperation of many well-known artists from Limburg such as Jack Vinders, Enzo Kok, Emma Kok, Sophie Kok, Rob Mennen, Floor Bosman and Swing a Dilla.

While it is obviously no substitute for the physical performances at the HuB., we hope that all family caregivers can enjoy this at home with their loved ones anyway.
