The renovated Rodahal: hotspot for visitors and artists
The Rodahal in the heart of Kerkrade has been transformed into a beautiful event venue for visitors as well as artists, bands and corporate events.
Future-proof
This transformation is the result of cooperation between the municipality of Kerkrade, Brand Bierbrouwerij and Van Melick Groep. In 2020, the three parties entered into an agreement to adapt the main hall in the Rodahal. When the corona pandemic broke out moments later, this plan was delayed. Now all work has been completed and the renovated Rodahal is ready to receive visitors and artists completely "future-proof.
Alderman Tim Weijers (Real Estate and Events) is proud of the result: "The renovated Rodahal reflects our ambition to create a modern event venue where various genres of artists can perform. From wind music to rock concerts. This joint investment thus contributes to our city's rich musical culture and provides a stage for creative artists to shine."
Room for creativity
Several adjustments have been made in the Rodahal. For example, a so-called "black box" has been created. As a result, there is no fixed room layout and the layout can therefore be completely tailored to the nature of the event. In addition, the so-called 'rigging' of the hall has been optimized: Rigging is a collective term for everything needed to get audiovisual materials into the air. This makes it possible to create brilliant sound and light effects for an optimal experience. In combination with the newly hung LED screens, this makes the Rodahal an ideal location for the creativity of artists and bands. Finally, the dressing rooms for artists have also been refurbished.
Qmusic the Foute Party XXL
Several great performances have already taken place in recent months, including the Edwin Eversband and Tino Martin. On December 16, the Night of the Bands is already completely sold out. Next year, the XXL edition of Qmusic the Foute Party Fout will take place on March 23.
