Are you thinking about the new Knots-Loops network?

A walk-in meeting about the future Knopen-Lopen walking network will be held on Tuesday, June 27. Visit Zuid-Limburg is developing this network on behalf of all sixteen South Limburg municipalities.

Walking via nodes (numbers) is increasingly common in the Netherlands and abroad. Also in South Limburg we like to join this trend. The walking routes within the network are interconnected by node numbers. The Knopen-Lopen network allows hikers to independently plan a route using these numbers. We expect the network to be ready in the spring of 2024.

Alderman Weijers (Tourism & Marketing): "Walking is popular and of interest to both tourists and our residents. It is also good for health and therefore fits completely within our VIE idea of Kerkrade. We hope that our residents and tourists will make great use of the Knopen walking network in the future."

Share your knowledge about the environment with us during the walk-in meeting

To create a good walking network for both residents and tourists, we need your help. After all, you have knowledge about the environment that should not be lacking in this process. Therefore your input is very important. During the walk-in meeting you can view the concept network on Map . You can also share your ideas with us and talk to the municipalities, Visit Zuid-Limburg and the contractor, Folkersma Routing and Sign.

Where will the meeting take place?

The walk-in meeting for the Parkstad region (municipality of Brunssum, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Landgraaf, Simpelveld and Voerendaal) will take place on Tuesday, June 27 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Slot Schaesberg (Slot Schaesberg-Laan 100, Landgraaf). You are welcome to share your ideas!
