Dieksiejoneer Dutch-Church Council now in bookstores

Last Saturday, the Dieksiejoneer Nederlands-Kerkraads was released. This glossary is the counterpart to the successful Nuie Kirchröadsjer Dieksiejoneer, which came out in 2016. For anyone who wants to write in dialect, it is valuable to learn Kerkraads from Dutch. With the appearance of this book, it is possible to learn to write Kerkrade properly.

D'r Nuie Kirchröadsjer Dieksiejoneer was a thick, more elaborate version of the original Dieksiejoneer from the 1980s. A great success for the Dialect Working Group of the Municipality of Kerkrade, as the third edition has now appeared. The working group continued its work for the preservation of Kerkrade dialect. Because the Dutch-Kerkraads Vocabulary also needed maintenance. And it did!

Alderman Jo Schlangen handed the first copy of the book to Helga Vandeberg. This happened during the Pubquiz of the Dialekverain Kirchröadsjer Plat, which exists 50 years. Hub Vreuls, Loek van de Weijer, Bertie Vermeersch, Piet Nieuwenhuizen, Jan Maijntz, Paul Weelen and John Vandeberg formed the core group that brought this work to a successful conclusion. A special word of thanks goes to John Vandeberg who unfortunately can no longer make this presentation. Luiz Oliveira took care of the design of the book.

The dictionary is now in Kerkrade bookstores for the price of €19.90.
