Thousands march during silent march for Gino

About ten thousand people joined Wednesday evening in an emotional and dignified memorial procession in memory of Gino. From the Eurode Business Center, the procession walked via the Roderlandbaan and Ailbertuslaan along a honor guard of tough cars and motorcycles to the playground on Hertogenlaan. The spot where Gino was last seen. The sky briefly turned blue as a large quantity of balloons took to the air for Gino.

On the playing field, sister Naomi addressed all participants in the march and Mayor Petra Dassen, also made a speech. 'This is a silent march, but in our hearts a hurricane of feelings rages. Powerlessness, despair, incomprehension and anger. We who are left behind have to show our humanity especially now. Support each other through thick and thin. This support gives us a little grip and lets the family feel and see that they are not alone. Their grief is immense, our support is an anchor point. A hug, a wink, a pat on the back, a firm hand, they are all reaching out to you, Gino's family, at this moment," said the mayor.

The city council - also on behalf of Gino's family - would like to thank everyone once again for their great involvement and all the support over the past few days.
