A warm welcome for new residents

Last Tuesday, the new residents of Kerkrade (of 2021 and 2020) were warmly welcomed by Alderman and Deputy Mayor Tim Weijers. In the Flexiforum, the (mining) past was discussed, but also some phrases in the 'Kirchröadsj' dialect could not be missed. Deputy Mayor Weijers:"'Kunt wal jód', 'Jouwe appetiet!' and 'Adieë wa!' Of course it takes some practice at pronunciation, I admit it won't be easy at first but these 'Kerkrade one-liners' can help you enter Kerkrade society, insofar as it hasn't already done so successfully. A society that, by the way, we make together!"

Practical information, important projects such as SUPER LOCAL, Rolduckerveld, Vie - Life on the Move and The Martin Buber passed the review and the aldermen, town clerk and registrar introduced themselves to the new residents. Several council members were also present. Afterwards, there was an opportunity to ask questions of the city council and officials.
