First healthy lunch

Elementary school De Schatkist on Monday became the first elementary school in Kerkrade to start the Healthy Primary School of the Future (GBT) concept. This involves a focus on healthy food and varied exercise every school day.
After the exercise class, at 12:30 it was time for the healthy lunch to which Mayor Petra Dassen had also been invited. Together with the children she enjoyed a delicious, healthy lunch with products from the five-slice pie chart. The menu included eggs, mozzarella, muesli balls, (drinking) yogurt, meat and cheese and much more.
Director Birgitte van Hecke of De Schatkist: "The lunch was not only very healthy, but also very enjoyable. Nice that the mayor was there. The children enjoyed themselves. They are glad we started GBT and are looking forward to the sequel. They are very much looking forward to participating."
Steltloper Elementary School will begin healthy lunch tomorrow and will be all GBT. Monday the school was closed due to a study day.
