Euroregional cooperation between boa's and police

Kerkrade and Herzogenrath have long cooperated on security matters. Our police also work well together. But cooperation between municipal enforcement and the Ordnungsamt is more difficult. The tasks and powers of these departments are different. BOAs are allowed to do their work only in the Netherlands and German colleagues only in Germany. In practice, both BOAs and Ordnungsamt employees have to deal with people from the other side of the border who cause nuisance. For example, on the banks of the river Worm and at the train station in Herzogenrath. When enforcement officers address these people, they often say they do not understand or comprehend them.

To solve this problem, the Public Body Eurode is organizing a language course German-Dutch and Dutch-German. The goal is to learn the language in a simple way and exchange experiences. The course consists of 2 sessions of 20 lessons for both BOAs and employees of the Ordnungsamt. The kickoff of this course was on Oct. 10. And with success.....
