The libraries in Herzogenrath and Kerkrade have been working together for a long time. However, the cross-border library card service is hardly known to the public.
Users of the Herzogenrath Public Library who live in Herzogenrath will receive a free library card from the Kerkrade Public Library upon presentation of their valid library card. Similarly, users of the Kerkrade public library who live in Kerkrade will receive a free library card from the Herzogenrath public library upon presentation of their current library card. Current rates can be viewed at the libraries or on the home page. Services for the Kerkrade library include the three locations HuB, in the center of Kerkrade, as well as the library Eygelshoven and the library Kerkrade-West.
