No rush passport and identity card applications from Sept. 25 to 30, 2024, and longer delivery times
A new model of passport and identity card will be introduced in the Netherlands on Sept. 30, 2024. This is done to keep these documents secure and reliable. Applications through Sept. 24, 2025 will be processed and issued with a current model passport and identity card and applications from Sept. 25, 2024 will be issued with a new model passport and identity card.
Due to the transition to the new model, there are longer delivery times for passports applied for September 18 to 30, 2024 and identity cards applied for September 25 to 30, 2024. Furthermore, it is not possible to make an urgent application for a passport and identity card from September 25 to 30, 2024.
