GeldWijzerWinkel festively reopened in Kerkrade Center

The GeldWijzerWinkel has moved. On Friday, November 8, the store officially reopened its doors at its new location at 22 Einderstraat, right in the center of Kerkrade. From 10:00 to 12:00, visitors were welcome for the festive reopening. Alderman John Roland performed the official opening, together with the involved partners of the GeldWijzerWinkel: Welzijnsstichting Impuls, KredietBank Limburg and Schuldhulpmaatje Parkstad.

During the opening, Kredietbank Limburg provided a demonstration of their mobile escaperoom. This educational tool, often used for school students, offers an interactive way to play the "debt game. Here, young people learn in a playful way how to handle money and are made aware of their financial behavior. This helps increase their knowledge and prevent debt.

More space and privacy for visitors
With the move from Martin Buberplein to Einderstraat, the GeldWijzerWinkel has not only gained a more central and accessible location, but also a more spacious premises. The new layout offers more privacy for visitors, which contributes to quiet and personalized support from the staff. There is also more space for workshops and activities on financial topics, such as courses on handling money and activities during "Money Week.

Expanded opening hours for more flexibility
With the move, the opening hours of the MoneyWijzerWinkel are also changing. The store will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for walk-in visits, and in the afternoon by appointment. This gives Kerkrade residents more flexibility to walk in at a convenient time for advice, questions, or help with financial issues.

Cooperation for low-threshold help
The GeldWijzerWinkel is an initiative of the municipality of Kerkrade and cooperates with Welzijnsstichting Impuls, Kredietbank Limburg and Schuldhulpmaatje Parkstad. These partners provide various forms of social and financial assistance through the GeldWijzerWinkel. There is close cooperation with social organizations such as the Kerkrade Library, the Food Bank and municipal departments such as Youth, WMO, Social Affairs and Security. In this way the GeldWijzerWinkel plays a crucial role in preventing and detecting debt and poverty in Kerkrade.
