Municipality of Kerkrade and Ongehinderd team up for accessibility

A day out, an evening out: we hope this will soon be possible again.
People who have difficulty moving, hearing or seeing want to enjoy this too. Recently, the municipality of Kerkrade joined the national platform Ongehinderd.

The Ongehinderd platform is committed to making the Netherlands accessible. With the free Ongehinderd app and website, people with disabilities can see exactly which places and buildings are accessible and what facilities they offer. Earlier, the Ongehinderd inspection team has already tested the polling stations within the municipality for accessibility.

Alderman Jongen (Wmo): "On behalf of the municipality I would like to call on residents to share their experiences with the accessibility of places and buildings via the Ongehinderd app. This way, we can help each other to get out and about carefree."

Unhindered app

Over 10% of all residents of the municipality of Kerkrade have a physical disability. These include the blind and visually impaired, people who have difficulty walking, wheelchair users, the deaf and hard of hearing. They can use the app and website to see which locations are accessible. You yourself can also do your part by downloading the Ongehinderd App and rating your favorite places.
