Municipality of Kerkrade starts payment of energy surcharge 2023
At the end of November 2023, low-income Kerkrade residents will again receive the energy allowance.
The supplement is designed to help low-income households pay for increased energy prices. By low income we mean an income of up to and including 120% of the social minimum. The amount of the supplement is a maximum of €1,300 per household.
Who receives the energy allowance automatically?
If you are already known to the municipality of Kerkrade, you will receive the energy supplement automatically. We will transfer the surcharge to the bank account number we know. We will also send you a letter about this.
You are known to the municipality of Kerkrade if you:
- Received a Social assistance benefit on November 1;
- IOAZ, IOAW, AOW-eligible with supplemental income support for the elderly (AIO);
- Are an entrepreneur with a Bbz living allowance.
Who can apply for the energy allowance?
Do you have an income up to and including 120% of the social minimum? And did you not automatically receive the energy allowance in November? Then you can apply for the energy allowance yourself from December 1, 2023. To do this, go to our website from December 1: kerkrade.nl/energietoeslag2023
