Municipality of Kerkrade seeks locations for charging stations
Kerkrade will soon have 75 new charging stations for electric cars. We are looking for suitable locations for these within our municipality. We could really use your help here.
You can share your views with us via the Questionnaire Charging Infrastructure Kerkrade.
You can complete the questionnaire until May 19, 2022. We advise you to use a tablet or personal computer (laptop) when completing.
The public charging poles are intended for people who live, work or recreate in the municipality of Kerkrade and do not have the ability to provide a charging facility on their own property.
Electric car growth
There are more and more electric cars in the Netherlands, and so more public charging stations are needed. For Kerkrade, growth is expected from about 300 electric passenger cars at present to about 1,000 electric passenger cars in 2025. By 2035, this number will increase to about 4,000.
Apply for charging station
In addition to the charging stations that will already be installed, there is also the possibility for residents to apply for the construction of a public charging station. To do so, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- You own an electric car.
- You do not have the option of installing a charging facility on your own property.
- No public charging station is present or planned within 300 meters walking distance.
The municipality will evaluate your application together with Vattenfall and together they will consider what would then be a suitable location for the new charging station.
Mobility Plan
Over the next year, Kerkrade will be working on a new Mobility Plan. In the Mobility Plan, we outline the future image of what the municipality of Kerkrade will look like in terms of traffic and mobility. We can really use your help with this.
