How does it work?

The municipality will only contribute to the cost of childcare if you already receive a childcare allowance from the tax authorities.

If you do not have childcare benefit, you must first apply for it through the Tax Office's My Benefits website.

If you do receive a child care allowance from the Tax Office, you can apply for a municipal contribution to the cost of child care if you :

  • are a parent with a Social assistance benefit through the Participation Act, or a benefit through the Ioaw, Ioaz or the General Surviving Relatives Act and are following a reintegration program of the municipality.
  • are a parent who works part-time and receives supplemental Social assistance benefit through the Participation Act, Ioaw, Ioaz or the General Survivors Act.
  • are a parent but receive Social assistance benefit benefits for living expenses as a school-age minor due to very special circumstances.

Through the childcare allowance from the Tax Office, you are entitled to 94 % of the cost of childcare. The municipal contribution is then the remainder up to 100 % of the costs.

Do you receive child care subsidies from the tax authorities and meet the Requirements? Then apply for the municipal contribution to childcare costs at gemeentehuis@kerkrade.nl.
