History of Kerkrade and Herzogenrath newly highlighted...
On Monday, June 21, 2021, the Eurode mayors, Mr. Benjamin Fadavian from Herzogenrath and Mrs. Petra Dassen from Kerkrade received the first two copies of the book "Facets from the History of the Land of Red II" during the Eurode consultation hour.
The book was written by Lei Heijenrath and Mathieu Huijnen. This second volume of contributions on the history of the Land of Rode again presents fascinating themes on the past of this ancient region. It includes descriptions of Kerkrade and Herzogenrath at the time of the ancien regime ( before the 18th century), which at that time formed an administrative unit.
Mayor Dassen: "I always enjoy reading books like this. I think I will take it with me on vacation". Mr. Fadavian also thinks the book looks great and pays a big compliment.
