Successful Day of the Mini Library

Kerkrade looks back on a successful Day of the Minibieb last Saturday. Participants went by bicycle along a specially laid out route past eight Minibiebs in the municipality.

Alderman Jo Schlangen, children's mayor Hidde Sieler and organizer Marleen Fischer were the first to set out from City Park.

Marleen Fischer looks back on a successful day. "We were able to make many children happy with a nice reading gift. Very nice that the Alderman and the children's mayor wanted to join me for the opening. The goal of the day was achieved: to bring the Minibiebs to the attention of as many people as possible. With the Minibiebs we ensure that reading is accessible to everyone in an accessible way."

The route will continue to be available via RouteYou. There is also a QR code on each of the eight Minibiebs that allows you to download the route onto your phone.

 How does the Minibieb work?

  • Take a book and/or give a book
  • The mini library is free
  • The mini library is for everyone
  • There is no obligation to return a book if you take a book with you
