Family Cards
Family cards from 1917 to 1940 have been removed from the reading room because they contain data on religious affiliation. These are special personal data, for which extra strict privacy rules apply.
Archive institutions used to simply make family maps available. However, the Personal Data Authority has determined that Maps may contain special personal data of individuals still living and that this data should not be provided.
It is hardly possible for the Municipal Archives to find out which family cards contain data of still living persons. That is why we are taking this measure. We are thereby anticipating a formal decision to limit the public accessibility of family cards.
