GGD offers tailored services for people with GP abroad
Differences in vaccination policies between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany are causing people to be left out. In fact, people living in the Netherlands and having a general practitioner abroad did not receive a call for vaccination against the coronavirus. The GGD Zuid Limburg offers a suitable solution by vaccinating this specific target group starting March 29.
GP abroad
The problem occurred first in Zeeland, where GPs were the first to start vaccinating. Dozens of people with a general practitioner in Belgium missed the invitation for vaccination. Later this also played out in other border regions including South Limburg.
In cooperation with RIVM, the GGDs in these regions were given the space to offer a customized solution for this. The GGD Zuid Limburg offers customization by vaccinating this specific target group starting March 29.
GGD calls on specific target group to come forward
Making a vaccination appointment is different for this target group. Because the GGD does not have the address information of these GP patients, it is not possible to send them an invitation by mail. The GGD therefore calls on these people to report to GGD Zuid Limburg.
Specifically, it concerns people who live in the Netherlands, have a general practitioner abroad and fall under one of the following target groups:
- Mobile people aged 63-65, born in 1956 and 1957
- People living at home with down syndrome aged 18-65 years
- People with morbid obesity (BMI > 40) aged 18-65 years
Special website
GGD Zuid-Limburg has set up a webpage especially for this target group with all the necessary information.
Because this group will not receive the invitation through the mail, it is important to review the information on this page.
