Well insured and out of debt with CZ scheme
Are you behind in paying your health care premiums with CZ? Then you can now make use of a payment scheme for social assistance benefit recipients. Previously, this scheme also applied to residents with a Social assistance benefit insured with VGZ.
The Municipality of Kerkrade believes it is important that all residents have good and affordable insurance. That is why this scheme is being expanded, so that more residents can get help paying off health care debts as well as having access to good Health.
What does the scheme entail?
The scheme is for people who receive benefits from the municipality and are in arrears with their health insurance company CZ, OHRA or Nationale Nederlanden. If you participate in the scheme, the municipality will deduct the healthcare premium from your benefit each month. The municipality will pay the premium directly to the health insurer. You will then no longer pay a penalty to CAK. You sign an authorization for this. If you qualify for this arrangement, you will be notified by the municipality.
Paying off your debt
The debt you have must be paid off. Any unpaid amounts will be paid off for you with this scheme, such as the health care premium, a co-payment or a deductible. Part of the scheme is that you pay €35 per month in repayment. That amount is also deducted directly from your benefit and paid on to the health insurance company.
This repayment scheme lasts a maximum of 3 years. If your debt is not completely paid off by then, the health insurance company will cancel the rest. You are then completely rid of your debt.
Well insured
If you join the scheme, you will participate in CZ's basic insurance. You may also choose supplementary insurance. This ensures that you are properly insured for medical expenses. The premium for the supplementary insurance, just like the health care premium, is deducted from your benefit and passed on to the insurer.
What are the benefits to you?
- You spend less money each month.
- You no longer pay a penalty to CAK.
- You will be reimbursed for more medical expenses.
- Your debt is paid off.
- Your residual debt will be forgiven after 3 years.
What if your situation changes?
As long as you receive a benefit in the municipality of Kerkrade, this scheme will continue to apply. Will you stop receiving benefits, move to another municipality or start working (part-time)? Then you must pay your health care premium and debt yourself. If you don't, you will have to pay a penalty to CAK again.
