Gold medal of honor for Tim Weijers
During his farewell reception on Monday, Nov. 18, Mayor Petra Dassen presented Tim Weijers with Kerkrade's Golden Medal of Honor.
Tim Weijers, born September 23, 1983 in Heerlen, has devoted himself for many years and with great dedication as Alderman and party leader of the political party "Burgerbelangen" which, under his leadership, has grown into Kerkrade's largest party.
Due to his efforts from his portfolios of Housing/Housing, Real Estate and Spatial Development, several major projects of great social importance have been realized, such as Rolduckerveld and Superlocal in Bleijerheide. He also won2nd place for the National City Marketing Trophy with Beleef Kerkrade. Tim Weijers is known for his decisiveness. He sees problems as challenges and obstacles as opportunities. Tim is a collegially driven director with focus, who has also earned his spurs in the regional administrative-political climate.
As of Dec. 1, 2024, Tim will take on a new challenge as director of the Healthy in My Region Foundation.
