Help for entrepreneurs in Kerkrade

The past period has not always been easy for you as an entrepreneur. Never before have changes followed each other so quickly. We were faced with the corona pandemic, which caused some entrepreneurs to accumulate debts.

With these debts, the municipality may be able to help you. Alderman Roland (Euregional Labor Market) "We hope that entrepreneurs who have problems use the services of the municipality."

Easing measures Tax Administration

From Oct. 1, 2020, everyone had to start paying off corona tax debt.
But there are still business owners who are behind on repayments. Are you in such a situation? The IRS has additional easing measures you can apply for. These measures are:

  1. The repayment period is extended from 5 years to 7 years;
  2. A one-time payment break of 3 months;
  3. There are options to pay quarterly instead of monthly.

Want to know more about Requirements or apply for a measure? If so, contact the Internal Revenue Service.

Haven't repaid anything yet and haven't made any arrangements? Prevent yourself from getting into further trouble. Contact the Tax Office as soon as possible!

Don't pay anything or apply for settlements? Then chances are that the Tax Administration will soon want to collect all debts directly. Even if you have agreed on payment arrangements for other debts from the Tax Administration. Doing nothing will cause more problems. Don't let it come to that and contact the Tax Office.

What can the municipality do for me?

There are a number of schemes for entrepreneurs with financial problems. The municipality of Kerkrade can give you a push in the right direction with these.

  1. The Self-employment Assistance Decree (Bbz).
  2. Income Support Act for Older and Partly Incapacitated Former Self-Employed Persons (Ioaz).
  3. Municipal Debt Relief Act

The Self-employment Assistance Decree (Bbz).

The BBZ is a scheme that helps self-employed people with temporary or long-term financial problems. The Bbz offers different forms of support, such as income support, a loan or a combination. To qualify, you must live in Kerkrade and be at least 18 years old. In addition, you must have a business that is viable and be registered with the Chamber of Commerce.

Income Support Act for Older and Partly Incapacitated Former Self-Employed Persons (Ioaz).

This is a scheme for entrepreneurs over the age of 55. Do you want to quit your business and need financial support to do so? Then you probably qualify for this scheme. You must live in Kerkrade, be at least 55 years old and have been self-employed for the last 3 years. In the previous 7 years, you must have worked for an employer or as a self-employed person. This scheme ensures that when you cease your business, you receive a benefit until you reach retirement age. An amount of € 167,116.00 (standard January 2023) in assets is disregarded. Because of this high asset limit, there is a chance that you will not have to sell any owner-occupied property

Municipal Debt Relief Act

Any individual in debt can get help through the municipality. This also applies to entrepreneurs since 2021. Municipalities must also offer debt assistance to entrepreneurs with (imminent) problematic debts. Are you self-employed/entrepreneur with financial problems or mounting debts privately and/or professionally? We would like to think with you to improve your situation.

Want to take advantage of the Bbz or Loaz scheme?

You can do so at: www.ondernemingsregelingen.nl
You will then first go through a target group scan. Once this is approved, the municipality will do a financial test to determine if you qualify for this scheme or another scheme.

Want to take advantage of the Municipal Debt Relief Act?

Feel free to contact the municipality's Bbz office at 14-045 or email bbz@kerkrade.nl, and we will be happy to assist you.
