Message from the mayor

Since the outbreak of Corona, it seems like we've all ended up in a bad movie. And the end is not yet in sight. A difficult situation for everyone, but a little more difficult for some than others. Questions like "Can I hold my own as an entrepreneur?", "Can I visit my mother in the nursing home?" and "How do I recover from Corona as quickly as possible?" were or are the order of the day. And then there are those who are grieving because of the loss of a loved one.

The coronavirus has had a huge impact on our lives. There is a lot of sadness, but we also see how people have started to help each other. I would like to know how you have experienced the past few months and how do you see the period ahead? How can we ensure that people with poor health are not left out, how can we continue to support each other? Can we continue to be a strong community together?  

I have so many questions I would like to ask you, and I imagine you have questions for me as well. That is why I would like to have a conversation with you. I cordially invite you to have a conversation with me on Wednesday, August 26 or Wednesday, September 2, between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. The only thing to do is to sign up by e-mail. All you have to do for this is to register by e-mail. You can do so at bestuurssecretariaat@kerkrade.nl. We will then contact you. You can sign up until August 25.
