Leisure Lane
The Leisure Lane is an attractive slow-traffic connection and more than just an ordinary bike and walking path. Along the way, everyone can enjoy the landscape and culture of the region. The Province of Limburg, IBA Parkstad, the six participating municipalities and Heijmans Infra are working together in a project team. Together, that team has produced a detailed design, which includes the design of the paving, the intersections, layout of the verges and the bicycle viaducts. Funding for the present design will be before city councils for approval in the coming weeks. Outdoor work is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2022 and the goal is to complete the work by the end of 2023.
Collaboration
The Leisure Lane is an IBA key project and is being realized by IBA Parkstad, Province of Limburg and the municipalities of Beekdaelen, Brunssum, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Landgraaf and Simpelveld.
