Inspiring information meeting about the Neighborhood Links in 't Westhoes
On Thursday, February 6, an inspiring information meeting was held in 't Westhoes about the Neighborhood Links in Kerkrade. This initiative, set up by the municipality of Kerkrade, welfare organization Impuls and care organization MeanderGroep, has been active in Rolduckerveld for several years and has recently been extended to all neighborhoods in Kerkrade.

With a diverse group of about 70 professionals from the neighborhood - including home helpers, district nurses, dementia case managers, informal care consultants, practice managers of general practices, housing consultants and members of the advisory councils - a valuable dialogue about cooperation in the neighborhood emerged. Attendees gained insight into how the Neighborhood Links work and their role in supporting residents and professionals. The focus is on reducing loneliness, detecting mild cognitive decline and preventing overburdening of informal caregivers.
While enjoying a cup of coffee and a piece of flan, practical examples were shared about how the Neighborhood Links contribute to well-being in the neighborhood. In addition, the connection to Welfare on Recipe for general practitioners and practice supporters was explained.
The outcomes of this meeting will be further explored and form the basis for future collaborative initiatives. In this way, the Neighborhood Links can be used even more effectively and the strength of the neighborhood community continues to grow.
