Annual dog tax audit kicks off June 7

Starting today (June 7), inspectors in the municipality of Kerkrade will again go door-to-door checking for dog ownership. This is done every year.

The inspections are carried out by BsGW. They are assisted by the agency LEGITIEM BV. The inspectors will call on residents of the municipality to make an inventory of dog ownership. Of course the corona measures will be taken into account.
If the inspector rings your doorbell, please ask him or her for identification.

Avoid a fine

Anyone who has one or more dogs must automatically pay dog tax and is required by law to register the dogs. The number of dogs at an address determines how much tax must be paid. So make sure all your dogs are declared, this way you will avoid unnecessary fines.

Registering your dog

The fastest way to register or cancel a dog is through My BsGW, the personal page on the BsGW website Log in with your DigiD. You can also report changes in the number of dogs via this personal page. The notification is then arranged immediately.
No internet? Then you can report your dog(s) by telephone from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 via the BsGW telephone: 088 - 8420 420. Please have your BSN ready when you call.
