Opportunities for job seekers at work and development market in Flexiforum

The markt Market, a work and development market for job seekers, was held on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Like last year, several employers were present and offered plenty of information about the different places a candidate can enter. So a rich and full offer, to properly inform candidates about all the opportunities available for starting a development path and moving into work.

Short twenty-minute interviews allowed candidates to meet employers. Among others, PG Personeelsdiensten, Milansa Personeelsdiensten, WSP Parkstad and Vebego were present. There were tours of the apprenticeships at the Ruilwinkel and the Doe-ploeg of the municipality of Kerkrade. And candidates could join information sessions on the Powerful Vital program, the Development Center, the Work Center and the Geldwijzerwinkel. Some 60 candidates attended.

In addition, candidates were able to attend workshops. Candidates could also learn about the Powerful Vital program, where people are coached. In the 'Job application' workshop, participants gained insight into their skills and opportunities on the labor market in an accessible way. The workshop focused not only on work experience and education, but also on clearly formulating personal qualities.

Alderman John Roland: "We do everything we can to introduce residents on welfare to the job opportunities that are available. Sometimes it's hard for people to get back on track. Therefore, it is tremendously important to help them get on the road to a workplace where they can regain their self-esteem. With this markt , we offer employers and job seekers an accessible way to meet."
